Wiring Guidelines

“LIC” motors up to 3kw normally designed for star connection for 415V, 50Hz, 3 Phase supply, but with increasing usage of 230V inverter, these motors are supplied with six terminals to create star or delta connection as required. Motors above 4kw are normally supplied with six terminals for star-delta connections. Motors with six terminals have to be connected in accordance with supply conditions. Verify the connection instruction before putting the motor in operation. With different connections of the motor, it is possible to use the same motor of different voltage supplies (Dual voltage motor)

Star Connection

On a six termination plate, connect U1, V1 and W1 with the link supplied along with the motor and connect three-phase supply wires to U2, V2 and W2 to connect the motor in star connection.

Delta Connection

On a Six termination plate, connect V1-U2, U1-W2 and W1-V2 with the link supplied along with the motor and connect three-phase supply wires to U1, V1 and W1 to connect the motor in delta connection.

While changing the connections, ensure that the rated Voltage is maintained on the supply to brake, rectifier or any other type of accessories / equipment which are directly connected to the motor termination.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION BEFORE START YOUR ELECTRIC MOTOR

  • For your motor’s protection, you should have to check proper motor earthing connection.
  • For motor’s good working capacity :
    • 1. For single phase : 230 Voltage ± 10%
    • 2. For three-phase :400 Voltage ± 10%
  • If your motor working on low voltage or two phases then your motor loading capacity will be decrease and it may be caused some major fault [like damage motor winding].
  • Before start your motor, first you check wire connection, switches or starters in your wiring from your Technician. If not, then motor will get too hot or Problem occurs during starting under loading condition.
  • Installed / Store a motor far away from water as well as possible.
  • If your motor’s pulley will be Installed properly on shaft otherwise loosely or out surface condition may be effect on your motor’s performance, (like motor’s bearing is to be damaged too fast).
  • If your motor running in overload then your motor also get too hot, so that condition please check your machinery & your motor’s loading capacity.
  • If any problems in your motor, you can contact the company immediately.
  • For good performance of your production, for your power bill and your motor related query, you should have to check your machine & motors from your technician on periodic maintenance.

If you keep in your mind all these important things then you can save your electricity as well as maintenance charge.
